Pregnant Mom Facing Prison Time for Allowing Her 3 Year-Old Son to Urinate in Parking Lot

A pregnant mother from Georgia who was due to give birth faced the possibility of going to jail simply for letting her 3 year-old son urinate in the parking lot of a gas station.

Brooke Johns was driving with her son in Augusta when he told her that he needed to use the bathroom, prompting her to pull over at a gas station.

“He’s like, ‘Mom, I’ve got to pee. I’ve got to pee!’ I was like, ‘Well, hold on,’ and he’s like, ‘No! I’ve GOT to pee! I’ve got to REALLY pee.’ And I’m like, ‘Baby, there’s nowhere for me to go, and he says, ‘Momma, I’m about to pee in my pants!” she recalled.

Given her advanced state of pregnancy, Brooke was not able to carry the little boy inside, so she let him urinate in the parking lot while she covered him.

“I can’t pick him up,” she explained. “You know, I’m not supposed to lift him.”

As she did this, a police officer walked over and confronted her.

“I said ‘accidents happen.’ And he was like – ‘take him in the bathroom,’” Brooke said. “What if I would have ran in the bathroom and someone had been in there? What was I going to let him do? Pee on the floor of the gas station?”

Brooke is now facing a court date on a charge of disorderly conduct just days before her due date. The charge she is facing could carry 60 days in jail and thousands of dollars in fines.

“I’m going to court April 30,” Brooke lamented. “Several days before I am due. Yeah, I could extend it, but I would rather deal with it when I’m pregnant. Not when I have a newborn.”

Do you think charges against this mom should be dropped? Let us know in the comments section.
