Shaking Elderly Man Asked Pizza Shop For Food That Would Be Thrown Out, Manager: ‘Make This Man Whatever He Wants

When a trembling elderly man came into Kelley Square Pizza before closing time in Worcester, Massachusetts, his request for food that would be thrown away was met with kindness as the restaurant’s manager insisted that he get a freshly-made meal, free of charge.

Mike Alexander, a mechanic in Worcester, was waiting for his pizza to be ready when he noticed an older man enter the pizza shop. The elderly man’s hands were trembling, he leaned on a cane, and he was wearing two coats.

“I’m at Kelley square pizza waiting for my pizza to cook,” Mike wrote, “and this little crippled old guy comes in. He’s leaning on this makeshift cane and wearing two coats. His hands are trembling and he’s wondering who is managing.”

Kelley Square Pizza was closing for the night, but the manager working behind the counter gave the elderly man his full attention. The trembling old man was obviously very hungry, and he was searching for any food that might be thrown away or that he could buy at a discount.

“The man behind the counter replies, and without hesitation tells the other kid to stop cleaning (they close at 130). The elderly man asks if there’s anything that would be thrown out he could buy cheap.”

Without hesitation, the kind manager tells his employee to instead make this elderly man anything that his heart desires.

“The manager then tells the kid to make this man whatever he wants. I just want everyone to know that during these tough and crazy times where others in the world are out to hurt… theres still a lot of good. There’s a lot of great. Start with yourselves. Open a door, pay for a coffee, pass on some food, donate to something, thank a vet, hang out with the elderly. Anything.”

Many hearts online have been touched by the manager’s kindness for the hungry old man.

“Nothing makes me happier than hearing about people being wonderful to other people. Thank you!” commented Desiree P.

“God bless all of you for your generosity in feeding this elderly man who couldn’t buy himself a warm meal. It’s a tough world we live in and so many people going on notice… You all have a big heart and a blessed soul. I praise those to the highest pedestal for the kindness you are doing. Thank you, God will reward you all,” shared Kim J.

“A man came into the service dept at the dealership I work in and asked if he could borrow a wrench to tighten a battery cable. I said I wasn’t able to loan out the techs tools but I could get that done for him. So we did. A few minutes later he walks back in and asked to use the phone.

I said sure. He attempted to contact a guy that he said needed some work done. Turns out the guy ran out of gas right after he left and was calling someone to offer to work for some gas money. He lost his job and home over missing too much time due to illness and was living in the car. I gave him my cash for gas and had one of our guys go get it in a fuel can.” wrote Clif H.

“Yes! So many genuine acts of human kindness daily, all we have to do is open our eyes. We can all help the many who need help!” commented Mary G.

“I was in burger king a few days ago. It was cold outside. An elderly woman comes in, has about 60 cents and asked for a coffee with the senior discount. The lady looked homely but her coffee came out to 84 cents. I told the cashier [to] make it a large and give her back her change; it’s on me. The lady started to cry and thanked me and asked to give me a hug, so I did… I was waiting for my food when the manager came with her coffee plus some food. He told her to sit and enjoy your food and coffee,” shared Gabrielle P.
