Family want answers after Grandma sat dead in vehicle for 3 days outside of hospital

A heartbroken family is calling for change after their grandmother’s body was discovered three days after she died in a vehicle in the parking lot of a hospital.

As per reports, 50-year-old Yvette Mooney was discovered on Sunday, August 23, in the parking lot of the Swedish Medical Center in Denver.

Yvette, who had two children and several great-grandchildren, is thought to have gone to Swedish to visit a friend.

Kandra Garcia, Yvette’s daughter-in-law, said: “A hard worker all her life. She raised amazing children.”

As per reports, the 50-year-old had failed to answer calls on the day she died. Her worried family called the police three days later after not being able to reach her.

Sadly, officers in Englewood, Colorado, found her body in the parking lot.

“She couldn’t make it inside,” Kandra said. “She thought, ‘I’m in an ER parking lot. They will find me –somebody will come.’ Not three days later when she’s blistered and too decomposed for us to have a proper burial.”

Kandra and the rest of Yvette’s family now want answers, as well as a change in policy that sees cars checked more regularly.

The hospital were apologetic in their statement:

“We offer sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones. Upon discovery of the event we immediately notified the Englewood Police Department and have worked closely with them throughout the ongoing investigation.”

Rest in peace, Yvette. What a tragic tale. We’re praying her grieving family can get some form of closure.
