Kelly Clarkson just got another big win in court as her contentious divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock continues.
Prior to their divorce in 2022, Brandon was not only Kelly’s husband and the father of her two children but he was also her manager. Now it’s being revealed that during his time as her manager, despite also being her husband, Brandon took millions from his wife.
In documents obtained by TMZ, a judge has declared that Brandon owes Kelly more than $2.6 million dollars. It has been founded that Brandon “unlawfully collected booking commissions” when working as Kelly’s manager.
According to TMZ, Blackstock was reportedly instrumental in securing her deals as a coach on The Voice, as host of the Billboard Music Awards, and more. And as a result, Brandon gave himself a commission for helping secure those deals.
However, as TMZ reports, only agents are legally allowed to earn commission from their clients, not managers. The documents obtained by TMZ reveal that from her role as a coach on The Voice alone, Blackstock took more than $1.98 million in commissions.
