Attempting to elucidate the bygone era of the 1950s to my children, I endeavored to vividly describe the intriguing spectacle that was our refrigerator during that time, where the internal arrangement elicited the perennial query of, “Where in the world did my dear mother stow away the meat?” Fond memories resurface, recalling the frequent expeditions my father undertook, chauffeuring my mother to the local butchers, while she, armed with a fan for defrosting, a bucket, and an ice pick, engaged in the arduous task of maintaining the freezer’s optimal functionality.
