‘America’s Got Talent’ Cheerleader Emily Gold, 17, Dies by Suicide Weeks After Appearing on Show

The 17-year-old *America’s Got Talent* cheerleader Emily Gold has passed away. “On September 16, our beautiful, kind, and loving Emily Gold passed away,” her high school dance team posted on Instagram. “It is with such a heavy heart that we share her passing.”

Recently, Gold and her group competed on *America’s Got Talent*; they advanced to the quarterfinals but were eliminated. The team received a standing ovation from Judge Simon Cowell, who praised their performance as “absolutely brilliant.”

Additionally, Gold will be “remembered as a leader, role model, friend, and sister to her teammates,” according to the Southern California high school organization. Gold was selected as one of the three captains for the following academic year last month.

We miss you more than words can ever say and we love you unconditionally, our dear sweet Emily. The message concluded, “Everything we do is for you, our beautiful angel 🤍.”
