The inauguration took place on January 20 at the Capitol Building, where the 78-year-old Trump took the oath administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. With his right hand raised, President Trump was sworn in while his wife, Melania, held two significant Bibles: one given to him by his mother and the other, the famed Lincoln Bible historically used by Abraham Lincoln in 1861.

Before the ceremony, members of the Trump family, including sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr. and daughter Ivanka Trump, filed into the Capitol Rotunda to await the proceedings. It was the youngest, Barron, who caught the eye of onlookers.
