Nicole Kidman Reveals Why She Filed for Divorce from Keith Urban After Nearly Two Decades Together – Report

Nicole Kidman has officially filed for divorce from Keith Urban, ending their 19-year marriage. Court documents cite “irreconcilable differences,” with September 30, 2025, marked as the date of separation. The filing confirms that both parties have waived spousal and child support, with Urban covering education and healthcare costs upfront.

The divorce includes arrangements for their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Kidman has requested to be the primary residential parent, with custody split at 306 days for her and 59 for Urban. Both parents agreed to avoid negative comments about each other, prioritizing stability for their children.

Although the legal process is only now unfolding, reports suggest the separation began in June 2025. Urban moved out of their Nashville home, reportedly leaving Kidman hopeful for reconciliation. His decision to establish his own residence, however, marked the point of no return.

Public speculation grew over the summer as subtle signs of tension emerged. In one instance, Urban abruptly ended a radio interview when asked about Kidman’s co-stars, fueling rumors of strain and jealousy within the marriage.

Friends close to the couple describe the divorce as emotionally difficult for Kidman. She is said to feel deeply hurt, though supported by her family, especially her sister. Urban, meanwhile, appears firm in his decision to move forward with his life.

News of the split shocked fans worldwide, many of whom had admired the pair as one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples. Social media reactions ranged from sadness to speculation about the role of demanding careers in their separation.

Married in 2006, Kidman and Urban’s relationship was long celebrated as a symbol of resilience and love. Their public image reflected deep partnership, making this breakup particularly poignant.

Now, as their marriage formally ends, both stars remain focused on co-parenting while preparing for separate new chapters in their lives.
