Dad Told Me to Take Cold Showers with the Soap He Gave Me — When My Boyfriend Walked into My Bathroom, He Started Crying

When Amelia’s dad gave her a bar of soap and told her to use it in cold showers, she didn’t realize something dark was behind it. Her world fell apart when her boyfriend found out the shocking truth about the soap.

I used to proudly call myself “Daddy’s little girl,” but now that phrase makes me tremble. The man I once admired isn’t who I thought, and I’m no longer his little girl. Here’s my story.

Growing up, I was very close to my father. At 23, I was still living with my parents until just a month ago because Dad didn’t want me to leave. I had the whole second floor to myself—my own bedroom and bathroom. Or so I thought.

Dad was always strict, but he mixed that with moments of care. He would say, “Character is built through discomfort. You have to face hard times now for an easier life later.” But he’d still bring me chocolates and ice cream when I was upset.
