Homeless Lady Sings Beautiful Subway Solo With A Voice ‘So Good It May Get Her Off The Streets’

A homeless woman stood alone in the train station, smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles rush hour. She had all of her belongings with her: some bags, a cart, and a blanket..

She stood there on the train platform belting out Giacomo Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro.”

Along came one audience member — a stunned police officer who was so impressed by her voice that he took out his phone and filmed a one-minute video that was posted to his department’s Twitter.

“4 million people call LA home,” the Los Angeles Police Department tweeted. “4 million stories. 4 million voices…sometimes you just have to stop and listen to one, to hear something beautiful.”

And with that, the 52-year-old woman became an overnight viral video sensation. “I’m speechless,” she told KABC. “It’s almost like a miracle.”

The local news was determined to learn more about the mystery singer and eventually tracked her down and learned the truth behind her identity — and she has quite the moving story to tell.
