WATCH: Sean Hannity Announces He’s Ditching His Blue State Home For Florida

In another big win for Governor Ron DeSantis’ Florida and big loss for a high-tax, high-crime, and high-regulation blue state, Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity has announced that he is ditching New York and heading to the Sunshine State. Explaining his move, Hannity said that he wanted to leave the horrible state of New York and move to the “free state of Florida.”

Hannity announced the move during a recent broadcast of his show, saying that it is the first major broadcast that was being done from his studio in Florida and that he had left behind New York for good so that he could live in a state that respects his rights and values.

Explaining the situation and announcing his move, Hannity said, “If anybody is listening to this program for any length of time, been threatening now to do this for quite a while, but we are now beginning our first broadcast of my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida. I am out. I am done. I’m finished. New York, New York, goodbye. Florida, Florida, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But it’s great to be here.”

Continuing, Hannity added that it is absolutely wonderful to live in a state run by and represented by people with similar values to his, as opposed to by those with antithetical values, saying, “And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values. I have a governor by the name of Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Rick Scott. So I’m feeling a lot better about it.”

Then, indirectly getting at the big “whys” behind his move, namely taxes, crime, and regulations, he said, “And I’m not going to go through the whys, the how comes, because it’s obvious this migration out of the blue states with high taxes, burdensome regulation, high crime, horrible school districts is real. And if anything, I’m probably late and behind the curve and many others have made the move beforehand.”

Former President Trump also moved from New York to Florida, though he did so in 2019. Announcing his move on Twitter, Trump said, “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the White House, is the place I have come to love and will stay for, hopefully, another 5 years as we MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, but my family and I will be making Palm Beach, Florida, our Permanent Residence.”

Continuing, he said, “I cherish New York, and the people of New York, and always will, but unfortunately, despite the fact that I pay millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes each year, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse. I hated having to make this decision, but in the end it will be best for all concerned. As President, I will always be there to help New York and the great people of New York. It will always have a special place in my heart!”
