TV’S MOST EMOTIONAL MOMENT: SINGING FOR HIS LOST FRIEND BRINGS TEARS, INCLUDING SIMON’S

When Josh Daniel stepped onto the X-Factor stage, nobody could anticipate the emotional journey he was about to take them on.

He introduced himself as a mechanic, living with his mother. But it was a heart-wrenching part of his life story that touched the judges and moved everyone in the audience.

In 2014, Josh experienced the devastating loss of his closest friend. He received a call to rush to the hospital to bid farewell to the person who had always stood by him, no matter what. That day marked the end of an era; his friend was gone forever.

Josh chose to sing “Jealous” by Labrinth. For those unfamiliar with the song, it expresses the feeling of envy when an ex-partner finds happiness with someone new.

The lyrics say, “It’s hard for me to say, I’m jealous of the way you’re happy without me.”

Yet, Josh adjusted the words to mirror his own emotional turmoil and the ache that accompanied his friend’s passing. He sang, “I’m jealous that he’s now happy in heaven — that he’s moved on to a better place, and that I can’t still be with him.”

These heartfelt words brought tears to the eyes of the audience and the judges. They even moved Simon to shed a tear.

This performance is profoundly touching and stands as an incredible tribute to a cherished individual who departed this world far too soon.
