Footage has captured the terrifying moment flames burst from the engine of a Condor Boeing 757, sparking panic among passengers.
The incident occurred shortly after takeoff from the Greek holiday island of Corfu. What was meant to be a routine flight to Düsseldorf quickly turned into a dramatic emergency.
According to German broadcaster WDR, the aircraft had already climbed to a cruising altitude of 36,000 feet when the turbine airflow was suddenly disrupted. The malfunction caused the engine to sputter and ignite, sending visible flames shooting from the side of the plane.
Passengers reported feeling the aircraft shudder as smoke and fire flickered outside the windows. Crew members remained calm, following safety protocols, while the pilots assessed the situation. Read more below
